insomniac_ls_tan4You know, getting a puppy is kinda like having a baby.  They need to be changed( taken outside) every couple of hours/s hours/day.  Fed small abounts of food 4 oor five timesa day.  Andy they are pretty much insomniccs - but they sleep most of the day.

I wanted to get a Toddler T-Shirt, but even toddler sizes are too small for this fluff ball.   I gott tell you they are a pain the the behine.  Thee puppy we have now was given to my son who is 19, by his girlfriend - so you know who gets most of th ecare -I decided it’s time to start charging.  Hopefully, they’ll quit leaving her.

If you’re new to the parenting game, you might not be overly familiar with different kinds of baby clothing. But one garment that you’re sure to become intimately familiar with is the Onesie. These are similar to a t-shirt, except that the article of clothing extends down past the waist and snaps or Velcros between the legs. These Onesies are an extremely convenient aid to parents, because they allow for quick and easy diaper changing.

Onesies are also known as an infant bodysuit, creepers, snapsuits, diaper shirts, and more. Just like t shirts, these articles of clothing come in a hugely diverse selection of material, patterns, and sayings. This means there’s something that is sure to please every parent. In the recent past, there has also been an increase in the amount of organic baby clothes that are available to parents, so if you’re at all concerned about chemical additives or harmful dyes, you have an alternative for dressing your child.

Baby CLothesRemember when they came out with the book “Dress For Success”?  According to that book I would have to dye my hair brown and cut off 4-5 inches, and that is just the beginning.  Now they are saying “you are what you wear”.  The tips are; 1.   No tight pants or tops, 2.   No low cut blouses or tops (somebody better tell Dr. Cutty on house right away), 3.  No scuffed of unpolished shoes, 4,  Very little bling (I guess you’d have to have some first), 5.  No baseball hats, particularly worn backwards (save the hats for formal occasions and wear them backwards when you’re in a hurry and want less wind resistance.  There are more, but geez, no Mickey Mouse Tees - what is this world coming to!  Where are the cute baby clothes.

One of the advantages of working at home is it doesn’t matter what I wear.  I wonder what flannel pj’s say about me?

Baby ProductsI found one of the coolest baby products!  It’s called with Winnipeg bunk bed, which is made by a German company.  The bed is designed to grow with you baby.  It starts as a crib and by adding accessories you will transform to five different stages.  You can even get an additional accessory that will turn the whole thing into an integrated adventure playground.

This is one of the companies designs  If you feel you little one is a bit  more adventurous you could try the hand crafted pirate ship bed, made with marine ply, moldings, rails and more.  It has shelves for books and toys plus 3 drawers.  Decorating a kid’s bedroom will never be the same!

Baby accessoriesWhen my kids were little all  you heard was don’t give babies pacifiers, it gives them buck teeth and god knows what else, besides all the baby needs is you not baby accessories.  Since some of us only got maybe 2 or 3 hours per day of rest, I say give the kid a pacifier if it pacifies him/her.  Babies don’t benefit from insane mothers (which is what I believe most of our asylums are full of today.  Mothers with 2-3 minutes per day of down time.

None of the myths from yesterday hold true today.  Don’t be ashamed - it benefits the baby as much as you!  My second son had a bottle until he was about 4.  Mind you, I breast fed him and he only got bottles after being weaned and then only had water in his bottles.  The complaints came in from everywhere, it was limitless.  However, today, this kid would rather have water than a soft drink or juice (which is not as healthy as you think).  My first weaned at 9 months straight to a cup, the second I have mentioned, and my third stopped nursing and bottles at 10 months.  He is a sugar addict today.  I say go with your instincts. God gave us all different babies  with different needs.  Follow your heart and your baby!

Unique Baby Clothes

Unique Baby clothesOkay, here it comes “Kissing Step #2.  It seems to me Dan is trying to put the responsiblility/embarassment on the girl.  Everybody knows that’s the guy’s job, right (sorry women’s lib).   Basically, you just ask her if she wants to kiss.  “If she says anything other than no or I’m not ready it’s a yes.  If she does say no then reply with something like “I didn’t say you could, silly.  It just looked like you were thinking about it”.  This puts all the risk on her and you act like you never asked.  Again, I am putting this into my words.

For all I know Dan is the greatest kisser in the world and his info is great.  It’s just kinda weird having something so natural put down in writing.  Yes, the first kiss for anyone is not natural, a better word would be uncomfortable - but bumbling is part of the fun for me - after it was over of course.  The part that scares me is, he may be right on the money!

I think we need some really unique baby clothes, like one that says, here it comes, it’s gonna be slobbery!

Baby Hats

baby hatsDo you remember your first kiss?  Was it great? yucky?  Well, now we all can rest assured we will get it right the first time.  I found an article in Ezine by Dan Hitt.  2 Steps to Kissing Girls.  This is quite a process so I’m going to have to put into 2 parts.   In fact I think we should begin to train our kids young.  Set their baby hats a little scewed and tell them to go for it!

Dan says, (my own words) is the Triangle.  You get close look from the left eye to the right, down to the mouth and back up to the left.  Dan says this is because women react physically when they are attracted.  Their eye dilate and she watches to see if you are going this.  It’s called a “state”, as in state of readiness.  Okay girls, what do you think.  Subconsciously I bet it works - my knowing in advance, I think I’d get dizzy.

Lately all of us are becoming more and more aware of the environment.  If you look at some of the materials used in the process of materials, especially for baby products, it would freak you out.  Personally, I have never liked the feel of anything but cotton.

I did find out that nobody really knows how old cotton is.  Some say 3,000 years.  But, they have found pieces of cotton in caves in Mexico that have been dated back at least 7,000 years.  Cotton has been found everywhere from Pakistan to the Bahamas/  And here I thought it all started with Eli Whitney and the cotton gin!

I have a hard time finding really cute toddler tees.  Most of them are all cartoon characters or something to do with a sports team.  Of course, there’s always the old standby, “My Parents went to ______, and all I got was this dumb shirt.

I went to my niece’s 1st birthday party a week ago and mom got 5 baby blankets (there were only 7 people there).  A friend and I found some really cool tops for boys and girls.  They were really original and I loved the fact that they were cotton.  They were so soft and when my kids were little they were allergic to lots of the synthetics out there.  It was a pleasant suprise.

I have a child we adopted.  We already had 2, but we annted more.  I wasn’t about the to through the cost of artificial insemation process.   The cost is so prohibitive.  So many of the “stars” choose to adopt to adopt kids form nations in a state of porverty.  I have a really hard time with this!  It helped me to find that many of these couples were condisered “not comepent to adopt in this country dues to mental illness or some other reason I don’t know about.   Of course the tabloids won’t tell you all the reasons.  I don’t think they are all crazy.

My husband decided the children in true need were from America.  The number of babies, toddlers and young children available for adoption in America is staggering.  I will never understand going outside our own country when there is such a great need right here in our back yard.  (this is my opinion only, not necessaryil backed up by anyone one originating this blog.  The boy we adopted was 2 at the time.  Today, people say, “he looks just like his father”, and the kids we didn’t adopt are never mentioned.   We make ure he had only the most unique baby clothes we could find to make him stand out among the others.  Of course, they all wanted a new shirt too, they got ont.  I would never change a thing!  I love him as much as our other 3, and he does look like his “Dad”.
