Baby Onzie

For a lot of us this is hard to talk about – for others it never happened.  To some it’s  with the first baby, some the 3rd or later.  But, you go through 9 months of anticipation, go through labor and the nurse hands you the baby and you look down at the baby and don’t recognize him and don’t feel any attachment.

When my first was born I looked at him and asked the nurse where my baby was.  Hopefully, she thought it was drugs or something.  But, by the second I got to my room, I realized his face was eternally burned into my soul.  The love I felt was overwhelming.  When they finally brought him back he had on the cutest baby onzie and  I was a basket case waiting for him.  I couldn’t stop looking at him and loving him.  I never had this problem with my other two and I have stopped feeling guilty.  It must have been a glitch of hormones.
